Centrifugal Leadership is the creation of Stephen W. Frueh PhD whose own inner journey took him from the streets of northern New Jersey to the factories and finally to finish high school with a G.E.D.. Eight years of theological study followed, then eight more of psychological study and finally three years of intensive leadership study – before he launched Centrifugal Leadership.

Centrifugal Leadership was born out of personal experience

“Early in my life I discovered that I didn’t do well in rigid, authoritarian or institutional models of leadership,” Stephen says.

Leadership can be a complex topic. Over the past three or four decades a promising paradigm for business has emerged – we call it ‘leadership from the inside out.’ We look to develop leaders who know themselves, trust their own judgment enough to listen authentically to those around them and who develop a deep sense of empathy as well as collaborative skill in leading who they chose to lead.

Just as most college courses in psychology do not change the inner challenges or competencies of those taking the courses, and most speeches affect the listeners in only minimal ways, leadership that is ‘top down,’ hierarchical, or unilateral is now known to be one of the least effective means of producing lasting change.

Stephen hosts four leadership groups, lectures to corporate teams on challenges of leadership, blogs, and coaches individuals in achieving excellence in leadership.
